PDR completely redesigned this 1900’s shingle-style cottage that overlooks the Maine coast and Winslow Homer’s studio. All new kitchen, laundry, wet bar, and bathrooms were installed, while maintaining the original footprint of the home. The entire cottage was elevated several feet to allow for new, state-of-the-art mechanical systems. PDR maximized the space by adding rooms symmetrically into the roof and vaulted ceilings in the master bedroom. The project included replacing all windows, doors, and shingles, giving this formally modest house a dynamic and fresh presence.
